Being an INFJ myself, I am amazed by the amount of INFJ anime characters that actually exist, despite being the rarest personality type according to the MBTI. However, it is very hard to distinguish an INFJ anime character from an intj character. There are a lot of similarities in their personality and cognitive functions. But still, if you analyse closely, you can filter out these two characters.
Unlike INTJs, INFJs have a lot more EQ and are capable of understanding people and emotions in general, thanks to their Introverted Intuition as the primary function. Where INTJs mostly care about themselves, INFJ can be seen helping others during situations. They are called ‘advocates’, and they can easily advise you on the right path with outstanding accuracy. They are very much invested and interested in their own as well as others’ abilities, interests and motivations.

2. Creative and Focused
3. Excellent Listeners and Writers
4. Able to spot lies quickly
That’s enough of the INFJ talk. Now let us look at some famous INFJ anime characters in the traditional ranked fashion, just like I always do with other personality types.
List of Top 10 INFJ Anime Characters
10. Mikaela Hyakuya (Owari No Seraph)
When Mikaela was younger, his parents died in a car accident. Mikaela was then taken in by the Hyakuya Orphanage, where he met his best friend, Yuuichirou Hyakuya. Mikaela and Yuuichirou were the only ones who survived when the orphanage was attacked by vampires. Mikaela was then turned into a vampire against his will and was forced to drink blood. Being a vampire and a Seraph both combined, he has superhuman abilities like healing deadly wounds.
Mikaela is one of the three protagonists in the series and had been continuously typed as an INFJ due to his ability to see through other characters’ intentions and motivation. From childhood, he had been a cheerful kid, but since his family was brutally killed, he became cold, distant and isolated from everyone.
9. Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)
I have not watched Mirai Nikki, so it is going to be a little bit difficult to explain in detail this character. From what I know from the sources, she has a more complex personality than the rest of the characters on this list. This mainly erupts from the fact that her childhood had not been good and the trauma had remained with her for years. The torture that she had to face from his mother was so intense that it changed her core personality.
Being tagged as a Yandere character, she is also very quiet and thoughtful, but at the same time, also hot-headed and rebellious, with no intention of killing others, but eventually can kill them in very deadly ways that you can’t imagine. Years of abuse had made her cold and rock solid from the inside, which usually is not predictable from her face and outer personality.
8. Sugawara Koshi (Haikyu!!)
You can call him the “mom” of the Karasuno team. Blessed with a small mole near his left eye, Sugawara is a skilled volleyball player. He has excellent command over setting the ball during the gameplay. Other than that, you will always see him motivating the team and cheering for them when things get grim. This is one of the trademark behaviour of INFJ anime characters.
You can always rely on Sugawara during a match since he is very aware of other players and their capabilities. His presence on the court makes everyone feel calm and safe, which is advantageous for any sports team. People can easily confuse him with an ENFJ character, but the fact that Sugawara is very much invested in his own team rather than the other justifies and increases the probability of him being an INFJ.
7. Falco Grice (Shingeki no Kyojin)
I couldn’t find a more refreshing photo of him, but believe it or not, the life of Falco Grice had always been very rough, and we can see it right from the moment when Attack on Titan season 4 started. Falco is one of the Eldian kids who is staying in the lands of Marley. He wanted to become a good Marleyan soldier and inherit the armoured titan.
Being an INFJ, Falco also feels that he is responsible for saving people, and he had countlessly tried to save Gabi from life-threatening situations.
6. Kaworu Nagisa (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Evangelion characters are definitely very interesting as they keep popping up in almost every anime MBTI ranking list. This time we have Kaworu Nagisa, a yet another INFJ with a highly philosophical mind. He is the Fifth Child and the pilot of Unit-13. Kaworu is a mysterious figure who appears out of nowhere and quickly befriends Shinji Ikari, the main protagonist. Kaworu is a complex character who is both loved and hated by fans of the series. Some find him to be a breath of fresh air, while others see him as a threat to the existing characters. Regardless of how you feel about him, there is no denying that Kaworu is a pivotal character in the series.
He is an enigmatic figure who seems to have a deep understanding of the universe and of human nature. He is also one of the few people who is able to connect with the giant alien beings known as the Angels. Kaworu’s role in the story is to help the main character, Shinji Ikari, come to terms with the events of his life and find a way to move forward. He does this by showing Shinji the beauty of the world and by teaching him the importance of compassion and connection. Kaworu is a complex and interesting character who has a lot to teach us about the world and about ourselves.
5. Itachi Uchiha (Naruto Shippuden)
Itachi Uchiha was one of the most complex and intriguing characters in the Naruto universe. He was a skilled ninja who was tasked with carrying out some of the hardest missions for his village. He was also a caring brother who wanted to protect his little brother, Sasuke, from the darkness that threatened to consume him. Itachi was a complex individual with a deep and multi-layered personality. He was a skilled ninja and a powerful weapon for his village, but he was also a kind and caring brother. He was a man of many contradictions, and this made him one of the most fascinating characters in the Naruto universe.
From a series that is close to the heart of so many retro anime fans, Itachi is a continuous learner, which we can see from his behaviour. Right from his childhood, Itachi had often shared an interest in becoming a good Ninja and ending the never-ending fighting and massacre. Calm and intelligent, yet humble, he always admitted defeat whenever it was deemed necessary. Despite being having such an idealistic personality, Itachi was a mass murderer and a member of the Akatsuki clan. He had always been blessed with great power and skills.
4. Chrollo Lucilfer (HunterXHunter)
HunterXHunter had always been in my ‘not to watch. This is mainly because the series has a humongous amount of episodes, fillers and a story that will take me years to complete. Nevertheless, among the bunch of interesting characters in the HunterxHunter series, now we are looking at Chrollo Lucilfer.
Sources define him as a calm and intellectual personality. He is pretty much confident in his skills and abilities. He is the leader of the Phantom Troupe, which is basically a gang of thieves. Even if he has a calm personality, he could never back from mass murders. He can do anything for the team members and is not very bothered about his own survival. This indicates his self-sacrificing capabilities.
Okay, so this guy also has strong manipulation skills, which you don’t usually see in INFJs, although the assertive ones can possess the same.
3. Armin Arlert (Shingeki no Kyojin)
No one can actually forget this character because he had always been the prime force behind Eren’s idealistic notion for the world. Armin, just like a typical INFJ anime character, is shy yet very sharp, especially at reading other people’s feelings and emotions. He is very dear to Eren and Mikasa, their childhood best friends.
At various instances, Armin had shown his incredible observation skills that have helped the army in a lot of ways to defeat the titans and traitors. But the catch is that there had been so many debates about this character regarding his personality type. Many websites and sources had already typed him as an INTP, due to his logical thinking.
2. Izuku Midoriya (Boku No Hero Academia)
The entire series of My Hero Academia is largely focused upon this character. Gifted with absolutely no quirk, he was blessed by none other than the pro hero All Might. All Might transferred his power called “One for All” to him. At the start, he was unable to control the incredible power of the quirk, but eventually learned it along the way.
Personality wise, Midoriya is quite shy and introverted and keeps admiring every other hero, but never backed from taking challenges as he is also very practical. His idealism is all about saving people and putting a smile on their faces. His role model is All Might, the only hero who is capable of smiling every time despite the situation. He believes in the concept of self-sacrifice and the responsibility of being a hero. At the cost of his own life, he saved many people at various instances throughout the series.
1. Norman (Yakusoku no Neverland)
Norman is the highest-rated INFJ anime character on the personality database and hence achieves the first position on my list as well. Gifted with high intellect and tactical behaviour, Norman is way ahead in the game of tag than the rest of the children. His personality is analytical yet compassionate towards others. He had always been following the observe and react approach while playing tag.
Other than that, we can see how it is so easy for him to pick up social cues and analyze people very accurately. The same he did with Ray and was capable of finding out the truth about him being the traitor.
Despite being physically weak, Norman has incredible mathematical skills and logical analytical skills that cause him to score perfect scores in almost all quizzes held at the orphanage. He is one of the protagonists from the series Yakusoku No Neverland. He was responsible for most of the planning part that takes place in escaping the grace field house.
