Welcome to yet another post regarding MBTI of anime characters, and this time we have a list of Jujutsu Kaisen characters and their personality types, according to Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Jujutsu Kaisen is a well-known Shounen anime whose story revolves around a young man named Itadori Yuji. He helps other Jujutsu Sorcerers in order to defeat Sukuna, the King of Curses, who has risen from the dead, again. The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the concept of cursed energies and cursed spirits.
When we talk about MBTI or Myers Briggs Type Indicator, there are around 16 unique personalities and sorted out into different categories based upon cognitive functions. The 4 major cognitive functions are Feeling, Thinking, Sensing and Intuition. Based on the stacking preference of these functions, we can type a particular character.
Jujutsu Kaisen consists of lots of characters, each unique and different from one another. From analysts to explorer types, we have all the characters with their set personalities. Let us look at each of them one by one and why they belong to the said personality type. This is a list of MBTI of Jujutsu Kaisen characters, specifically from the anime.
List of MBTI Types of Jujutsu Kaisen Characters
1. Yuji Itadori (ISFP)
Itadori is the main character of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. Despite being an introverted personality, Itadori never shies away from cracking a joke or two. He is well aware of the value of human life. He also cannot tolerate injustice and wants to do good for the community, and for the ones that are enduring the pain from strong evil curses. Itadori is a friendly character and has good emotional awareness of the situation or a person.
He is also dedicated when he confronts an evil curse. This is because when he encounters a curse, he always puts forth his beliefs and standards and if anybody tries to defy or go against that, then it makes him very angry. From the perspective of physical abilities, Yuji is regarded as one of the best sportsmen from the school, though he never actually takes interest in his own physical abilities. His running speed is very swift and he has quick reflexes.
I find that Itadori is a very approachable person, and a good friend to have alongside. He is also very honest, making him a trustworthy person.
2. Megumi Fushiguro (ISTP)
ISTP’s in anime are my favourites, and Megumi is the best character from Jujutsu Kaisen that happens to be an ISTP type too. Although he doesn’t talk much, he is one of the strongest academy students from the series. From the start of the series, we see that Fushiguro is not probably interested in small talks and communication. However, when it comes to hunting curses, he becomes serious. His life is very private and we rarely see him talking about himself in the series. Fe is the inferior function of ISTP’s, that is why he fails to understand others feelings.
Fushiguro has phenomenal control over his cursed energy. We can always see his dominant Ti (Introverted Thinking) kicking in during intense fights. This is confirmed by his habit of constantly finding out the weakness of his opponents. He uses the rational and logical approach while fighting the evil curses.
3. Ryomen Sukuna (ESTP)
Sukuna is just a smart ESTP anime character. He loves to torture people and take control as a leader. More importantly, he loves adventures and people who are exceptionally skilled, considering the fact that he liked the skills of Fushiguro and challenged him face-to-face. In the anime, he is portrayed as the most powerful curse among all curses, giving him the title – The King of Curses.
Sukuna is incredibly sadistic and loves to give humans and other curses a hard time. While killing other curses, he is very brutal and unforgiving. He also tends to show his arrogant side from time to time. Being a special grade curse, he is over-confident about his abilities and skills and would never think twice before taunting other curses or even the strongest of the Jujutsu Sorcerers. He is competitive, however, a bit lazy to come out in front of people that lack skills according to his mentality.
4. Mahito (ENTP)
Mahito is one of the strongest evil curses from the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. He is best known for his childish personality. Mahito has a playful attitude towards all the humans and other curses and loves to fight for the sake of entertainment and fun. However, note that he also has good eyes and is able to understand the strength and potential of others. This was proved when Mahito fought with Nanami.
His ENTP characteristics are evident from his philosophical mindset about human souls and their core emotions. ENTP’s dominant function is Ne (Extroverted Intuition) and this is also confirmed from the way he talks and put forwards theories about the “thinking” of the human race.
Mahito, as a curse, was born from the hatred that humans have for each other. This is why he also thinks that humans are no longer worthy to be alive and curses should rule. Despite being playful about his techniques, motivations and goals, Mahito is somewhat a very ruthless individual and does not regret killing humans for the sake of his desires.
5. Satoru Gojo (ENTP)
Gojo Satoru is the strongest character from Jujutsu Kaisen. He is well known for his domain expansion “Infinite Void” and a lot of other godly techniques that he frequently displays in front of the audiences in a very fashionable manner. Personality-wise, he is a carefree individual and we don’t really see him valuing people’s life. He is always in his own tune and prefers to step into the battles only when it is utmost required.
Many of the people from Jujutsu academy actually dislike Gojo because despite being such a powerful entity because he always slacks and never considers the life of people. However, his high Ne always guides him in understanding the abilities of others as well as predicting the kind of damage that the opponents can try to do to him. He is not strict while teaching his students and this quality is admired by his students. We are unsure about the kind of training that he endured to become such a powerful character, and most of his character development is yet to be seen from the anime perspective.
6. Kento Nanami (ISTJ)
Nanami is a very complex character. He is typed as an ISTJ because of his respect and loyalty towards rules and regulations. Nanami is very time-bound and critical when it comes to fights and battles and usually does not like to waste his energy and time until it is necessary. He is a very calculating fighter and his technique of ratio proportion is considered very dangerous. By attacking the weak points of the opponents, he ensures that his time is not wasted and the task is done well early.
Nanami has an introverted personality and his business-like personality makes him look rude and arrogant but this is not the actual case. He cares for others, the only thing is that he never opts to show it through his words. Despite being a Sensor type, his intuition is well-developed to be able to understand the gist of the situation and use certain objects in the environment to his advantage. He is also capable of understanding the potential of other characters in the series.
7. Nobara Kugisaki (ESTJ)
Dutiful and confident, Nobara is one of the best female characters in anime. Her personality is stubborn and bossy, however, she also has a soft side. She takes pride in fights and uses her techniques quite brilliantly. Due to her nature and personality, she can be an effective leader. Nobara is constantly seen blabbering and talking to her opponents and curses whenever she faces one. She does not like to back down during fights, even if she is injured or hopeless.
One of the striking features of her is her ability to not get influenced by anyone’s words or ideas. This makes her an independent leader who can think through situations even if nobody is around. She also tends to get angry easily. Her communication is straightforward and she always tells whatever is on her tongue. Nobara will always revolt and disagree if something is unfair or inequitable.
8. Junpei Yoshino (ISFP)
Initially, Junpei’s personality was hard to decode but as we delved more and more into his personality and behaviour, we can confirm that he is an ISFP type. He was bullied and tortured at school but didn’t have the courage and power to speak up or make a difference in his personality. From the start itself, he hated humans and the kind of negativity and hatred they have for each other. However, when he got the chance to wield the cursed energy, he opted to take revenge and change the scenario.
One of the trademark qualities of ISFP is that they crave freedom and independence, and they will never back down if someone tries to steal that from them. The same is the case with Junpei, and because of this attitude, Mahito was able to manipulate and take advantage of him.
9. Aoi Todo (ESTP)
Todo is an ESTP character from Jujutsu Kaisen. He loves to fight and likes those who are skilled in fighting and using techniques. Todo never tends to look towards boring things and life and he is always up to find interesting and flashy things that will pump up his adrenaline. Typically, ESTP’s too love a life full of action and entertainment. Physically, this guy is very strong and his reflexes are really good, he is quick and can use his techniques to even move faster than his opponent’s eyes.
Despite being an extreme individual, he does have a philosophical side. At times, he also proved to be a good teacher and a mentor, and because of that, Itadori was able to follow through with his advice and unleash the potential powers of the black flash technique.
10. Maki Zenin (ENTJ)
Maki is a dedicated and hard-working woman who trained herself so much that she actually became very strong. She also tends to be rough and straightforward while communicating with others. She was rejected by her family because she had no powers but she trained hard to prove them wrong. Maki is a natural leader and she can bring out the best in everyone.
Her ideology regarding acceptance is unique. She never thinks that she is accepted by society. Rather, she believes that reputation and respect are earned by doing something great and using your skills to help others. Consistency in her training is one of the key factors that made her so strong. She is goal-driven and does not like to waste her time. All these personality traits match best with ENTJ types.
